Camping at TinCup

Over the 4Th of July we went camping. We staying at TinCup which is in the San Isabel National Forest. We had a blast we rode and cooked and fished! It was amazing to just get away from everything.

Logan and Dakota at an old Iron mine... on the other side of the Cumberland pass.

Dakota was covered head to toe in dirt... It had not rained there and everything was dusty!

Dakota and Kaden play in the creek we camped right next too. Never mind that the water is only a little above freezing!

See mom ... look mud!

Mirror Lake again ... I Just could not get over how beautiful it was up here. GOD is AMAZING!

The creek that was next to the camp.

The Zoo

We went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo yesterday with the kids. Our thinking was that we would go early and beat the heat and the crowd... WRONG! I wanted to get there before they opened because I wanted Dakota to see the Giraffes come out of their house and go through the special draw bridge that they have. So, we got there and waited around for the Graffies to come out, while waiting every kid and their parents stood in front of Dakota and shoved her around. Now, don't get me wrong I know that it is a public place with lots of people. But, honestly how hard is it to say excuse me or sorry? Or, how about " hey... she was here first we are going to take our turn and wait for her to finish." But, I guess that is not something that parents are teaching their kids.... HOW SAD! I will get off my soap box.

While there Dakota got to feed the Giraffes, which she loved! She was scared at first but, I told her its just like feeding the cows at grampaws and grandmaws, then she had it down! Next up was this little chipmunk that was getting food that had been dropped on the ground. I guess he thought Dakota was going to feed him because he let her touch him. We were almost half was done when Dakota didn't want to walk anymore. So she got to ride on Daddy's shoulders!!! Yeah for daddys! They make little girls feel much better. She loved the Alligators.. Why I have no idea they were just laying there doing nothing... not even moving. But, that is Dakota for you. Logan and I had a lot of fun spending the day with the kids. We, don't get to do it every often and it was very nice.

Logan was showing her were the Giraffes were at.

She Loved This!

Ty was just enjoying being outside.

Dakota and the chipmunk

We were waiting for the Giraffes. That is the face Dakota make when you say "Say Cheese!"

She had just asked "Daddy, can I carry you?"

Her first face painting.

Trying to figure it all out.

We are each faced with choices as parents/adults, that you try and weight your options and make the best choice. The choice that lies ahead... Do we stay in the Army/ military or do we get out. The options are so much alike and at the same time so different. I guess in the end we all do the best we can and hope, pray and trust that God has a plan. Because I sure know we don't!

Now on another note.... It has been 7 weeks since surgery and I have lost 35 pounds and 20 1/2 inches!!! I am in a size smaller clothes than I started ! I feel so much better, my knees don't hurt and I want to go and do things. I can not thank my husband, family and friends enough for their amazing support!
